Tom Krochock is an actively performing musician in the Minnesota and Wisconsin areas. His skills include all genres from jazz to classical, pop to funk, and everything in between. Tom is also an accomplished arranger, composer, teacher, clinician, recording and live sound engineer, and producer. His music has awarded him many honors. In 2002, Down Beat magazine named Tom “best classical soloist.” Krochock also appeared in the 2004 & 2005 Finals of the National Trumpet Competition- jazz division. Tom is the 3 time attendee of the prestigious Henry Mancini Institute for commercial music. While there, he worked with many of the leading musicians on the scene today, and performed and recorded in some of the hottest venues in Los Angeles. Tom studied music at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
Tom’s performing credits are numerous. He has performed with and backed many of the biggest names in music today. Some of his credits include Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Patti Austin, Maria Schneider, Christian McBride, Arturo Sandoval, Diana Krall, Gunther Schuller, Eddie Daniels, Lewis Nash, John Clayton, Michael Lewis, Nachito Herrera, and many more.
The variety of the ensembles Krochock has played in is noteworthy. He has been one of the main soloists and the lead trumpeter for the Down Beat-winning and Grammy-nominee Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble. He has also performed with Pete Whitman’s x-tet, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, and Five by Design. Tom has played with Twin Cities-based R&B/Soul groups The Prophets Of Soul, Mick Sterling and the Stud Brothers, The Brian Kinney Band, and High and Mighty. Tom was the associate trumpet in the Lacrosse Symphony Orchestra, and has also performed with the Chippewa Valley Symphony, and as a fanfare extra for the Minnesota Orchestra.
As a producer, Tom has completed 3 full length albums and has done consulting and engineering work on a multitude of other projects. His arranging skills have been retained by many of the top ensembles in the Twin Cities.
Mr. Krochock currently resides in Minnesota and has many exciting projects in the works.
